Buyer Tips To Ensure a Smooth Transaction


You can use this helpful list to make the move to your new home.

  • Arrange to transfer your medical, dental and other important records
  • Prepare for your auto insurance transfer of address
  • Mail change of address cards to the post office, etc. Online service is available at www.usps.gov
  • Close/transfer bank accounts
  • Arrange for utility transfers and reading on former residence and new ones
  • Arrange to have school records transferred
  • Make sure you do not make any major purchases before the closing that might affect your credit

Seller Tips To Ensure a Smooth Transaction

Maintain your home in ready to show condition and make it easy to show and schedule your home. Here are some tips to prepare your home to show.

Exterior

  • Pick up after pets
  • Declutter your home from toys, yard tools, garbage cans, etc
  • Remove dead and dying plants
  • Add color with flowers in potted plants
  • Neatly arrange garage items and sweep floor
  • Repair gates, fences, etc

Interior

  • Remove clutter and organize closets
  • Vacuum and dust
  • Clean Carpets and drapes
  • Touch up paint
  • Wash windows and mirrors
  • Empty wastebaskets
  • Replaced burnt out light bulbs
  • Open Drapes and shades and turn on lights for showing
  • Make beds and hang cloths neatly in bedroom
  • Deodorize pet area
  • Arrange fresh flowers throughout
  • Freshly baked goods freshens up the air(be careful of too much deodorized smells)
  • Clean countertops from clutter
  • Clean kitchen appliances, cabinetry
  • Make sure baths are fresh and clean
